Lazarus Farms is your one stop shopping center for all 8 major breeds and crossbred swine. We have been raising registered hogs since 1950 and in the hog business for 5 generations. We specialize in production, carcass quality, rate of gain and feed efficiency. Our animals are raised in 10x30ft Cargill open air pens with sunlight, for exercise and good health. Why have your sows raise 6 or 8 pigs when ours can raise you 10 or 14? We hold many test station records on boars and market hogs at Penn State Tests.
Our animals are not spoon fed, we raise our boars and gilts in large groups of 20-45 head. We do not use any hormones or growth additives in our feed. We raise our own grain to insure the very best quality of feed. We sell about 150-200 bred gilts a year. Our sow herd consists of:
- 5 Crossbred
- 20 Poland
- 25 Landrace
- 20 Berkshire
- 30 Chester White
- 20 Duroc
- 40 Spot
- 30 York
- 50 Hampshire
We can mate gilts to purebred boars for pure litters or for crossbred litters. We have sold pigs to 15 states and several foreign countries. We can deliver big groups or small groups.
Boars, open gilts, bred gilts, feeder pigs and butcher hogs are on hand most of the time. We are taking orders for spring delivery.
